The space where you can reflect freely with prestigious speakers on how to build a better world together

The Social Forum moves from the Concert venue to the Benicasim Municipal Theater. All sessions will be free and open access. Bus service available between the festival and Benicàssim.

Knowing and learning. Flee from simplicity and static visions. Address the complexity of the whole. Debate. Dialogue. Reflect. Visibilize. Build. These are the pillars that of the Rototom Sunsplash Social Forum. It is a space for listening and speaking, free of thematic boundaries, about culture, environment, economy, human rights, peace and social movements; about conflict and, political and humanitarian crises, but also about their solutions and alternatives. Both present and future. About realities that coexist on the same planet, and that are sometimes unknown. And all this from the hand of expert voices, anonymous or not. From front-line protagonists. Of those who bet on a turn, and change the course. Driving forces of those other possible worlds.

Many names have passed through the different editions of the Social Forum. Such as the Nobel Peace Prize laureates Rigoberta Menchu and Shirin Ebadialong with the last one endorsed by the Swedish academy that has been at the festival: Mohamed Ben CheikhIn the 2017 edition, the modernity ideologue and sociologist Zygmunt Baumanenvironmental activist Vandana Shiva the Egyptian economist and political scientist Samir Amin, Christian Felber (Austrian economist and ideologue of the Economy of the Common Good), together with a wide range of journalists such as the Egyptian Mona EltahawyIsraeli Amira Hassthe Spaniards Ignacio Ramonet (director of Le Monde Diplomatique) and former RTVE correspondent Rosa María Calafi Rosa María Calaf, the Italian Giulietto Chiesa y Sami Al-Ajj journalist for Al-Jazeera.
