Mireia Pepiol has been a social educator at the Albocàsser Penitentiary Centre (Castellón II) since 2008. In 2012, together with her partner, she created the ACtúA Project, a comprehensive socio-educational project designed to meet the needs, interests and motivations of inmates in the artistic, cultural and educational areas, based on active and community participation.
Since 2021, it has been coordinating the intervention of more than 20 entities that carry out therapeutic and socio-cultural treatment programmes at the Albocàsser Penitentiary Centre.
The performing arts proposals at the centre have been a key factor in fostering inclusion and avoiding the social isolation caused by imprisonment.
