Regenerative agriculture, the impact of exacerbated urbanism or active meditation make their way into the Pachamama area
The Barcelona artist Macaco will be at the forefront on August 18 of the experience around movement, dance and singing 'Dub Tai Sing. By Macaco', one of the novelties that brings the space of personal reconnection and with the Earth of the international reggae festival.

Agroecology proposals and natural therapies will be joined by interactive talks such as the one on August 17 with representatives of the Landless Rural Workers Movement of Brazil, the Kurdistan Liberation Movement and the Zapatista Movement of Mexico.

The stories of uprooting, but also of struggle and resilience, reflected in the documentary ‘Llavors’, will take center stage under the emblematic Dome on the penultimate day of the festival.

Natural therapies by a team of professionals, yoga and mindfulness sessions, dance, talks, agroecology, permaculture, conscious food, superfoods, health, medicinal plants, the value of organic seeds.
These are some of the many elements that make up Pachamama, a space for reconnecting with Mother Earth and for personal growth that is consolidated within the daytime cultural offerings of the international reggae festival Rototom Sunsplash, which starts in two weeks -from August 16 to 21- at the Benicàssim concert venue under the slogan ‘The Power of Utopia’.

The space grows year after year, and does so with new and interesting proposals such as those that will bring the musician Macaco on August 18 with the interactive activity on the method ‘Dub Tai Sing. By Macaco’.
A novelty that follows many others, around the movements in defense of the territory, regenerative agriculture or the analysis of the impact on the day to day and the natural heritage of exacerbated urbanism, in a program that this corner of personal reconnection and with the Pachamama announces on a date as marked as this August 1: Earth Day.

Once again this summer, Pachamama structures its activities in three different areas.
The first, agroecology (from 15.30 to 16.30 hours), with proposals from groups to learn how to make cosmetics naturally or fertilizers without impact on the planet and health, or to know a little better the Rototom seed bank, among other topics.
It will take over the strip yoga, with sessions to reconnect with oneself through different styles and teachers of this discipline (from 16.30 to 18.00 hours).

The Earth strip will emerge, like the previous one, under the characteristic Dome, and will last until 7.30 pm, shortly before the start of the concerts on the Main Stage, with workshops, interactive talks and proposals loaded with messages in defense of the earth.

It is here that will land, on Sunday, August 18, the meeting of active meditation ‘.Dub Tai Sing. By Macacowhich will be guided by the renowned artist from Barcelona.
An experience to connect through movement, dance and singing (with positive affirmations), through the bases of the Sound System.
Thus, the activity in workshop format is built on three pillars: the sound experience of dub (Dub), one of the genres of reggae; movements inspired by tai chi (Tai) but with powerful dances; and singing (Sing).

The 2024 edition brings other interesting proposals such as the inaugural Workshop (August 16), ‘My body, my territory’, to be held by the company A Solas to explore through movement and body expression, the relationship with one’s own body.

What do the Landless Rural Workers Movement of Brazil, the Kurdistan Liberation Movement and the Zapatista Movement of Mexico have in common?
This will be discussed on Saturday, August 17, in the talk ‘Life in the center, generating utopia’, by Entre Pobles (representing MST), Lêgerîn Azadî (collective in solidarity with Kurdistan) and the Assembly in Solidarity with Mexico (representing the Zapatista Movement).
Together they will address such commonalities as the struggle for the defense of land, the empowerment of women in these movements, and their ability to transform dissent and anger into organized resistance and sustainable revolutionary change.

The talk ‘Regenerating the Earth’ will take over on Monday, August 19.
A meeting point between experts who advocate for this regenerative agriculture -which proposes to cultivate without plowing, using flowers instead of pesticides and saving work and spending on agrochemicals, sequestering carbon and creating life- to change the world.
The documentary filmmaker Carles Pons, director of ‘La voz del viento’, will present some examples of regenerative agriculture.

On Tuesday, August 20, a colloquium will be held around the documentary ‘Llavors’, directed by La Cosecha Comunicación, with the participation of part of the production team and some of the protagonists.
The film deals with the story of several people who, in the 90’s, were affected by some urban projects that changed the physiognomy of a city, Valencia.
Stories of uprooting, but also of struggle, overcoming and resilience.

The closing of Pachamama ‘s agenda will be on Wednesday, August 21, ‘Global Harvest: Collecting the Essence of Rototom’, a dynamic by the EspiraLab collective to investigate proposals and ideas for improvement regarding this edition of the festival and to analyze how, from the community and community movements, can work on global transformation.
