The Rototom Sunsplash 2024’s trump cards to surprise family audiences
More hours of daily activity, new spaces with their own agenda and proposals to connect even more with the youngest attendees: these are some of the many new features that we are activating in the different cultural areas of the venue.

More hours of daily activity, new spaces with their own cultural and leisure agenda and proposals that give a twist to connect even more with the concerns and tastes of younger audiences. The family profile of the Rototom Sunsplash festival continues to grow. This year we are activating multiple novelties in the different cultural areas aimed at young audiences and their families.

Magicomundo: more Zoo Il-lustrat, a Fallas Workshop and the first session of Reggae Kids

This is the case of Mágico Mundo, which adds an extra hour of programming (until 9 p.m.) and once again becomes an oasis in mini format with six spaces adapted to children and designed to be shared with the family.

The ‘Baby Zone‘, with sensory materials, is joined by ‘Sueña‘, to delve into the world of stories and exchange books among families; ‘Crea’, the artistic expression corner with manipulative materials where to express through art; the symbolic games of ‘Imagina‘; the ‘Rocódromo‘ and large-format games; and ‘Gran Arenero‘.

The agenda of Magico Mundo includes two major novelties, a family yoga day (August 16) and a session on the Reggae Kids on August 17, which will promote the meeting with an artist of the Main Stage to connect this space aimed at children with music and families, and as a prelude to the Reggae Universitywhich regularly incorporates this type of debate with artists.

The wink to the Valencian culture will be more present than ever in Magico Mundo with the organization of a Fallas Workshop (August 19) and the presentation of the book ‘I malgrat tot, Palestine’ by Illustrated Zoothe collection with songs from the Valencian band Zooillustrated and with didactic material (August 20). In addition, a storytelling session has been organized with the poet Carles Cano in tribute to the also Valencian poet and journalist Vicent Andrés Estellés for his centenary, on the 18th.

This space will merge with several of the Workshops of the Artisan Market, which has designed a special agenda to bring part of its creative activities to Mágico Mundo.

Sunsets with a lot of circus

More news. Rototom Circus Show emerges again, with the collaboration of the Circo Diverso School of Madrid, but moves to the sunset to link with the closing of Mágico Mundo and provide evenings full of spectacle and acrobatics.

Four companies will take to the stage in the most circus-like space of the concert venue between August 17 and 20, in the time slot between the first two concerts on the Main Stage (from 9:15 p.m. to 10 p.m.). Among them Colokolo with his acrobatic show ‘Chouf Le Ciel’, from Morocco, which will stop in Benicàssim as part of his summer tour in Spain. They are joined from Madrid by Circo Circulum and Ido Loca: ‘Ni No Ni Nana’ and ‘La Ramona de las Pelotas’, respectively, and the Valencian company Spinish Circo and its ‘Circus Fire Night’.

Battle of promises, urban dance and the new Rototom Urban Basket jump to Teen Yard

There are also novelties in another of the spaces for young audiences, the Teen Yard, and three times as many.

Let’s Move Rototom Special Edition will bring to the area the urban dance energy of Let’s Move, the second largest urban dance championship in Spain, through exhibitions of its 2023 winners and masterclasses by several of its teachers.

On the other hand, the space has a new sports area to host the Rototom Urban Basket, with basketball tournaments and triples contests and the collaboration of Zineb Social Basket.

In addition, Teen Yard will host the Rototom Special Edition battle of promises, an artistic competition dedicated to reggae in all its versions and whose winner will be programmed at Rototom 2025.

The area returns with its usual Skate Park (in collaboration with URBNS) and a Slack Zone with the Slackline Valencia collective. Its acclaimed parkour area lands with renewed structures and a new partner: Motion Academy.

A new space to travel through science: Discovery Lab

The whirlwind of novelties to consolidate Rototom Sunsplash as an experience to enjoy without age is joined by the already announced new space that incorporates the enclosure: Discovery Lab. From August 16 to 21, it will offer three hours a day of scientific and human knowledge travel through workshops, lectures and shows. Discovery Lab is the first collaboration of the prestigious CERN research center with a Spanish festival to build bridges between music and science.

50% discount on tickets for teenagers

More than 21,000 children under the age of 13 enjoyed this festival and summer experience by the Mediterranean with their families last year. The formula summer, family and reggae works, and weaves a vacation plan with culture and fun as the axis among attendees of any age.

This year, as a novelty, In addition to the free season tickets for children under 13 years of age, for the first time a 50% discount on the price of tickets for young people between 13 and 17 years of age has been added. Free access is maintained for boys and girls (under 13).

Accommodation in the campground with plots adapted to families with children

The camping area of the Rototom Sunsplash, next to the concert venue, has more than 400 pitches for families with children, between standard and group mode for tents and for camper. The tent sites have shade raffia and are located in one of the best areas of the campsite, with reserved bathrooms and showers.

This space with limited access to families with children is fully fenced to provide a safer environment and has a common area under the trees with a sandbox for the little ones. More than 350 families stayed in these plots, including tents and campers, in the 2023 edition. It represents more than 25% of the total reservations in the camp.
