Rototom Sunsplash brings together two spaces with different rules: the concert venue and the campsite. Access conditions for the venue are stricter than those for the camping area, so what you can bring with you depends on which of the two you are entering.
The public may be searched at the entrance. You can leave and re-enter the venue as many times as you like during opening hours, and there are free drinking water fountains in both the performance area and the campsite.
Concert venue
Food and drink
No food or drink may be brought into the festival venue, with these four exceptions:
- A sandwich (or similar) in hand, intended for immediate consumption.
- Water, provided the container is not heavy or blunt.
- Baby food.
- Food for dietary intolerances, allergies, or other medical conditions, supported by a medical certificate or similar document, which must be shown at the entrance.
Access with alcoholic drinks and bags full of food is specifically prohibited to ensure food safety and to prevent alcohol consumption by minors.

- Pyrotechnic material
- Weapons
- Laser pointers
- Sprays
- Drugs
- Any object that the organization considers dangerous or that is prohibited by current regulations
Recording the festival
You can take photos and videos for strictly personal use.
Drones
Flying drones is not allowed at the festival. The airspace over the venue is restricted, so they cannot be flown even if you have a license.
Moving around the venue
Access for any type of motor vehicle is prohibited. The use of scooters and bicycles is only allowed until 8:00 PM.
Pets
They are not allowed in the venue. The only planned exception is detailed below.
Campsite
In the camping area, there is no fixed list of objects: the rule is that no object considered dangerous by the organization or prohibited by current regulations is allowed. In addition to this general rule, there are specific campsite prohibitions, almost all related to fire.
You can bring in
- Food, water, and drinks in closed bottles, for personal use
- A 20-25 meter extension cord with a ZETAC plug, if you have booked electricity in the Camper Zone or Family Zone
You cannot bring in
- Camping gas and any utensil that produces a flame
- Gas cylinders
- Cooking appliances and electric stoves
- Metal elements and utensils that the organization considers dangerous
- Pyrotechnic material
- Pets
And inside the campsite, it is not allowed to
- Make fires
- Prepare or sell food or drink
- Connect to electrical panels on your own
- Tie ropes, cables, tents, or awnings to trees
In the free camping areas and in the plots reserved for tents, you can only camp with a tent: vehicle access is prohibited. Motorhomes and vehicles equipped for sleeping can only stay in the Camper area.
Cooking is already taken care of
Each campsite has a tent with ceramic hobs and sinks, free to use, open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM. The maximum time per user is 40 minutes and very large pots are not allowed.
Animals: only one exception
To ensure the safety of all attendees and the well-being of the animals, pets are not allowed in any part of the festival. Guide dogs for people with visual impairments and medical assistance dogs for diabetes and epilepsy are allowed, provided that the person carrying them has the documentation and training certificate issued by an official enabled center—ONCE, ACEPADE, Red Cross, ADI, or IGDF—at all times and the animal remains tied and controlled. No other exceptions are considered.
What happens if rules are not followed
These rules exist so that thousands of people can live together safely for six days in the same space. The organization may deny access or ask anyone who does not respect them to leave the venue, and in that case, the ticket price will not be refunded.
Valuables
Both the campsite and the venue have lockers to keep valuables safe, as well as a device charging service. Access and stay at the venue are at the attendee’s own risk: the organization is not responsible for any loss or theft that may occur.
