Born in 1990, he won the Jamaican TV song contest Digicell Rising Stars at just sixteen years of age: Romain Virgo is perhaps the most authoritative new artist continuing the great tradition of singers founded by legendary figures such as Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe and John Holt and continued by Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond and Cocoa Tea, to name a few. Romain easily alternates between delicate and very powerful registers and has already left his mark as a writer with hits like "Caan Sleep" or "I wanna go home". He has released two CDs, "Romain Virgo" (2010) and "The System" (2012), but continues to record excellent singles such as "Cry tears for you" and for the dancehall "Too much bulls pon de dancefloor".
