Rototom Sunsplash is heading towards its 31st anniversary in Benicasim with a Welcome Party, the first in the festival’s history, which will bring this collective celebration forward by 24 hours and join as an extra festival day to the The Place to Be experience, the motto that will pulse this summer. In just over a week, next Sunday, August 16, the concert venue will host eight uninterrupted hours of music as part of this welcome party, from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM, spread across two of its six stages, Lion Stage and Dub Academy.

Admission is free for everyone who has a festival pass or any type of ticket for Rototom Sunsplash 2026, and also, as a sign of the festival’s connection with its host town, for people registered as residents in Benicasim.

Anyone who does not have a ticket for this edition of the festival and wants to join for this night only can do so with a specific ticket for 15 euros, which can only be purchased at the box office. The night of the 16th to the 17th in the camping area is only included for those who have purchased a ticket or festival pass with camping from the 17th. That product already includes arrival during the eve of Rototom 2026, so no extra arrangements are necessary.

The spotlight will fall on the three winning bands from the Rumbo a Rototom 2026 competition, who will perform on Lion Stage. The Cantabrian band Mountain Tops will open the line-up at 10:00 PM with a sound inspired by Jamaican roots and British reggae. They’ll be followed by Sotabosc, the project led by Víctor Aiza, at 11:15 PM; and finally taking over at 12:30 AM, Iyaman Pablo & Irie Reggae Vibes, the roots reggae musical project led by Galician artist Pablo Cameselle from Puerto del Rosario (Canary Islands).

The Lion Stage lineup will be completed by sessions from Leon Selector, who will open and close the evening, and two hours of Fakeguido between 1:15 AM and 3:15 AM. The Welcome Party will run simultaneously at Dub Academy, on a night that will be opened by the Dub Academy All Stars at 8:00 PM with three hours of sound system. Good Over Evil (11:00 PM) and OTO Old School Jungle will take over for the closing, starting at 2:00 AM.

This welcome party will officially kick off six festival days of concerts, culture, and global gathering. From August 17 to 22, Rototom Sunsplash will once again pulse with twelve hours of uninterrupted daily activity starting at 5:00 PM and running until 5:00 AM, in a format designed to avoid the hottest hours and harmonize the venue’s activity with the surrounding area’s rest.
