For more than 40 years the Sahrawi people have been in refugee camps in Algeria and in the territories occupied by Morocco and the international community says nothing. Three authorities on the issue will, from different perspectives, explain the roots of a conflict that has castrated the liberties, rights and opportunities of the Sahrawi people, at the Rototom Social Forum.
The Sahrawi activist Aminatou Haidar, known as the “Sahrawi Gandhi” for her pacifist struggle for the human rights of her people, together with the activist Hassanna Aalia, to whom the Spanish Congress recently denied political asylum, and the executive director of the FiSahara International Film Festival, María Carrión, will participate in the debate titled “The Sahara: 40 years waiting” to be held on Friday August 21.
