To address real current problems like the scourge of violence against women, from a different multidisciplinary perspective, is one of the objectives of this year’s Social Forum at Rototom Sunsplash.
The singer, composer, musician, producer and writer Amparo Sánchez, became known musically for her project Amparanoia; the Judge of the Superior Social Courts of Valencia, Mercedes Boronat; and the journalist Llum Quiñonero will be the key speakers in the debate “Love us without violence”. Among other things the session aims to analyse different aspects of male chauvinistic violence and spread awareness among those present regarding the need to prevent this type of conduct from occurring.
The debate in the Foro Social will not be the only activity for raising awareness among the public about the need to combat gender violence. There will be a special presentation for the Theatre of the Oppressed inspired by the problem of gender violence, and there will also be a special session for adolescents in the Art Symposium with a workshop that takes a look at how to end the abuse of women through art.
