The coming edition of the Rototom Sunsplash Social Forum, this year under the slogan “The right to be happy”, aims to provide critical and analytical perspectives on the principals of the international conflicts that are ongoing around the planet.
The prestigious journalists Ramón Lobo (Venezuela, 1955) and Giulietto Chiesa (Italy, 1940) are two of the speakers who will share their particular views on the issues that trouble modern society today.
Lobo, well known for his work as a war reporter covering wars around the world, will participate on Thursday August 20 in the discussion titled “Women of peace #womenatwar”. The session will analyze feminine roles during war in depth. Also participating in the talk will be the Catalan journalist Lali Cambra, who seven years now, has been a correspondent in Africa and representative of the NGO Médicos Sin Fronteras (MSF), an organization with who both have actively collaborated in recent years.
The Italian Giulietto Chiesa, known for his work both as a politician and journalist will join us in the Social Forum on Friday, August 21, to analyze the risks presented by Islamophobia in Europe. The president of the Movimiento contra la Intolerancia (Movement against Intolerance) Esteban Ibarra, will join Chiesa in the debate.
