Two parties, on two consecutive days in two of the most symbolic green areas of Valencia and Castellon with reggae helping to set the scene, that is what Rototom Sunsplash offer you the coming 23 and 24 of July to get to get everyone in the modd for its twenty third edition.
Jardines de Viveros in the capital of the river Turia will host on Saturday July 23, a macro concert from 20.00 with a line-up headed by Julian Marley, son of the most famous Jamaican artist, which includes three other major names on the Spanish reggae scene, they being Sr Wilson; the Valencians Mediterranean Roots, who will also perform on the Showcase Stage at Rototom Sunsplash; and the band Candela Roots, who will once again bring their critically reflective lyrics in Valencian, the groups trademark.
In less than 24 hours later, the reggae party will move from Valencia to the Festival Arrankapins in the Pinar del Grao in Castellón. There, on Sunday July 24 from 19.00, Mediterranean Roots and Candela Roots will perform once again, this time joined by Funkiwi’s fusion group. A touch of Valencian flavor for an event that is completely free, that with its eclectic musical program, will also have numerous activities for families. Indeed there will also be a wide range of culinary delights thanks to the five food trucks with traditional Asturian cooking, dishes from Venezuela, pizzas and many other gourmet treats on board.
Who’s up for a double?
