1 July 2017
This summer, the magic of the full moon and the musical roots of Africa and Jamaica come together again this Saturday 8th July at Solé Rototom Beach in the second edition of Afroreggae Full Moon. An evening where Dj Floro, one of the biggest promoters of afrobeat, will bring his energy and rhythm, together with the live act of Wontanara Ibiza, among other proposals.
The great Dj Floro is an artist without borders, both in a geographical and musical sense. A transmitter of emotions and sonorities from the streets of any city in the world, who will make us travel to Africa and Jamaica, as a preview of his participation at the African Village of the Rototom Sunsplash, where he will perform on Sunday 13th August. Dj Floro currently collaborates in Sonideros of Radio 3 and has also taken part in programmes like Trópico Útopico, in this same station, Al Son de Cacique in Cadena 100 or Latido Global in Gladys Palmera Radio.
Also tomorrow, we will enjoy the fusion of music and dance of Wontanara Ibiza, a group that plans, hosts and organizes the largest number of West African music events on the Pitiusa island. Their interpretation of the traditional rhythms of Guinea Conakry and the Malinke ethnic group, and their participation in multiple festivals together with artists as well-known as Alpha Blondy, have turned this collective into an example for the promotion of cultural wealth and African music.
The line-up for the second Afroreggae Full Moon will also include Radio Babylonia Ibiza with DJ Al Varo, who will bring together a sound ceremony capable of making you travel the planet in one night,if desired, or explore music genres around the world.
The Afro-descendant group, United Minds, is an independent, cultural and educational initiative, which spreads the notion of the African roots, raises awareness and breaks stereotypes about the continent through information, art, literature, workshops and fashion.
In addition, that same night there will be a paddle boarding tour under the moonlight with East Coast Surfers Spain, for the most adventurous.
Are you coming?
