World famous for his work in the 60’s and 70’s, Edward Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee has had numerous international hits. With an extensive professional career behind him which he has kept going for over 40 years, his contribution as must to the history as to the creation of reggae music is unquestionable.
Great at discovering talent, untiring and innovative, at the beginning of the 70’s Lee was one of the pioneers producing dub music in collaboration with King Tubby, with whom he experimented with new producing techniques and sound effects. During that period he produced some of the most important deejays, like Dennis Alcapone, U-Roy, I-Roy, Príncipe Jazzbo and T de Brown, as well as the first album of Beenie Man. In 2008 he was awarded by the Jamaican Government in recognition of his contribution to Jamaican music.
When it comes to the show he has prepared for Benicassim on Monday August 17, the live show of the The Gorgon Sound System will include ‘Young Sriker’ (the son of Bunny Lee) together with the Gorgon selectors taking turns, alongside several MCs and Bunny Striker Lee himself, all which ensures a wide selection of historic vinyls.
