For the second year in a row, The Internet Point is offering 13 hours of daily internet and printer access from 20 recycled computers. They can be used every day from 1pm till 2am. The collectives Hackerspace Castellón, EngiOn and La Plantilla Disseny, linked with the University Jaume I, created the initiative. As a key part of recycling, they are using obsolete computers that still worked, or repaired computers that had broken parts, which had been replaced by newer ones.
The three collectives wanted to repeat the experience at the festival and put across their philosophy that not everything broken stops being useful. So this year they’re getting even more involved in Rototom Sunsplash by holding a MagicoMundo workshop where you’ll be able to build and program your own robot. It will be held on Sunday 14th and Monday 15th at 5pm in the closed area of the Info Point. Come and experience the world of robotics and participate in various challenges. There will be a game with pieces, sensors and motors to design your robot that you can put it to the test in a series of challenges. Do you dare?
