Blast off! The International Dub Gathering (IDG) festival converts Bigastro (Alicante) in the European epicenter of dub, reggae and sound system culture from Thursday 29 March to Saturday 31. Ahead of us: 53 hours of almost uninterrupted activity with more than 50 artists in the line-up, with Jah Shaka, Mafia & Fluxy, Twinkle Brothers, Adrian Sherwood and Iration Steppas taking the lead (see full line-up),and a varied extra-musical programme: international cuisine, flea market, space designed for families, yoga and conferences around the dub are just a few examples.
The Carmen24 venue of the Alicante town, hosting the event for the first time, for this the third edition of IDG, opens this Thursday at 16.00 hours and will not lower the curtain until Sunday morning. With its programme “full of enticements” and with a new space to stage exhibit itself that “expands possibilities” the organization, of which the Rototom Sunsplash forms a part, expects to exceed the 9,000 festival goers from 23 countries that came together for its 2017 edition in Barcelona.
