The festival would like to do its bit to try and counter the effects of the devastating forest fire that burnt through about 1,600 hectares of mountain in the locality of Artana, in the heart of the Sierra de Espadán, 700 of which were inside the nature park.
To try to alleviate the consequences of this scar that the fire burnt into the province of Castellon, once the festival has ended we will reforest the campsite area with new vegetation. To be precise, we will plant new trees in an area that will be baptized the Sierra de Espadán, in tribute to the hundreds of professionals, neighbours and volunteers that have worked shoulder to shoulder throughout the week to extinguish the fire and who prevented further damage from being caused by the fire.
Besides raising awareness about the importance of caring for the environment among the audiences that will come to enjoy the festival in the future, this reforestation campaign contributes to reducing the CO2 emissions while increasing the amount of shade, thereby making the festival even more comfortable.
