Locally sources and in season foods like garlic, cauliflower, thistle, chickpeas and carrots can really help us improve our health
Superfoods are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, nutrients and minerals, which contribute to notably improving our health by way of our diet. Some of these are very easy to find and common in Mediterranean food, for example garlic, carrots, hazelnuts, almonds, peanuts, white lupin, lettuce and chickpeas. In fact, two leaves of cabbage contain the same amount of calcium as two glasses of milk.
To know these properties of these foods well, Mariano Bueno has given a talk in the Pachamama area; he is an expert, pioneer and educator of ecological agriculture, geo-biology, bio-construction and other healthy lifestyle alternatives. It was a session where he has explained how these products can help in balancing the intestinal bacteria, and in turn, our whole organism.
Avoiding processed foods, increasing the consumption of wholegrains and eating organic, locally sourced and in season foods are the only secrets to improve our diet and as a result, our overall well-being.
