7 August 2019
We celebrate our tenth anniversary in Spain this summer. In Benicàssim (Castellón), where we landed in August 2010 and where we intend to stay.
“España marca una revolución en nuestra historia. Ha sido como empezar un proyecto nuevo, iniciar otra aventura”, detalla Filippo Giunta, director de este proyecto cultural y musical en formato de macrofestival.
“Spain marks a revolution in our history. It has been like starting a new project, starting another adventure”, states Filippo Giunta the director of This cultural and musical project in macro festival format. Our history has been marked by more than 3.2 million festival goers and more than 2,400 artists on the bill. “Rototom Sunsplash has gained a lot since its arrival in Spain, and we believe that Spain has gained from the presence of Rototom Sunsplash. The national reggae scene has grown a lot in the last decade. In the quantity and quality of the bands”, Giunta reflects. “Spain has also opened the doors of Latin America to us; Here we have established multiple collaborations, from Colombia to Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile and Argentina; and from here we have also gained presence in the United States.”
Along the same lines, Ander Valverde, the voice of Green Valley, one of the leading Spanish reggae bands that will star on August 22 at the special closing concert of the 2019 edition. “Rototom in Spain: is always welcome”, he concludes.
Under the name Green Valley & Friends, the formation will pay tribute to these ten years of experience in Spain on August 22 on the Main Stage. “two hours of a tremendous concert on Main Stage, with ten collaborations and ten musicians on stage.”
