The return of Malaka Youth, after the great edition of 2014, in which they presented themselves as winners of the Iberian Reggae Contest, has probably been a little surprise for the audience at Rototom. Right after them, we could enjoy the spectacular voice of the Canadian Chelsea Stewart, who left everyone surprised. The very young singer performed singing over riddims played by DJ Max Bello, with a repertoire of versions and songs written by her, without shyness and with great passion. She will certainly mature. From the particular voice of Stewart, we moved to the hip hop made in France by the hand of the excellent Rootwords.
Alberto Tarin, a member of New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, hit the stage with his own band, Alberto Tarin Reggae Jazz Orchestra, to present a kind of reggae difficult to find outside Rototom Sunsplash. His magical sound did not let the audience scape, who came to the stage to see the master.
The climax of the day came when the Italian Train To Roots appeared on stage. A tide of fans, many Italian, did not betrayed the expectations. An essential show with an infectious load of seventy five minutes that left everyone satisfied. There is no doubt that they will get very far very soon. They were followed by the explosion of the Catalan Itaca Band. Unreachable and tireless, it was impossible not to dance and jump with them. We will hear about them quite soon.
Finally, an energetic trackshow by Sistema Sonoro Tiuna accompanied the beginning of a new day.
See you tonight!
