The programme of family activities for the next edition of the festival adds a new proposal. The well-known Reggae per Xics musical project, which stands out for combining the lyrics of traditional songs with different Jamaican rhythms, will offer a special concert at the Lion Stage on Saturday 19th August, last day of the festival.
The performance of the music group The Penguins will have the radio as a common thread and more specifically the 54.46 FM station, precisely in honour of the song from Toots & The Maytals, who by the way, will be also performing this year at the Main Stage.
During this very special radio session, the audience will have the opportunity to make a different journey through the rhythm, from Africa to the Caribbean island, to dance to the sounds of some of the reggae classics, in addition to deepening in the Jamaican culture in an entertaining and relaxed way.
The show will start once the grand final parade reaches the vicinity of this stage, which will begin at 18.00 hours to the sound of a great batucada in front of the Main Stage, and will go from there to the rest of the venue.
The unique combination of reggae and traditional music by Reggae per Xics, offering its own versions of lifelong songs, will allow the Rototom Sunsplash to create a dynamic, joyful and especially participative performance.
