Rumbo a Rototom 2025 Is Born: An Opportunity for Emerging Bands to Perform at the Festival
In collaboration with SGAE, we open the call for the "Heading to Rototom 2025" Contest, an event in which we will select four emerging bands or artists residing in Spain to perform on the Lion Stage of the festival during its 30th edition.

The contest Rumbo a Rototom 2025 is born, an open call for new national artists and bands from the musical universe of reggae, dancehall, ska, dub, and their fusions with electronic, hip-hop, cumbia or flamenco, among others, which will allow the four selected formations to perform on the Lion Stage on August 18, 19, 20 and 21, 2025.

In collaboration with the spanish Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE), we seek to boost the national reggae scene by offering new talents the opportunity to present themselves to a global audience. The 30th edition of the festival will bring together more than 200,000 attendees from 76 countries, providing the selected artists with unparalleled visibility both live and through the event’s official streaming.

The four chosen artists will perform on August 18, 19, 20, and 21 at the Lion Stage, a prominent stage within the festival. They will be able to share space with established bands, access professional technical equipment and connect with music promoters from around the world. Additionally, they will receive support for accommodation, meals, and travel expenses up to 1,000 euros.

Registrations will be open from March 11 to April 13 through the festival website. From April 16 to May 5, the band selection process will take place, combining the evaluation by Rototom’s artistic team (80%) and online public voting (20%). The winners will be announced on May 7, thus beginning their journey towards a unique experience within Rototom Sunsplash.

With this proposal, the festival and SGAE reinforce their commitment to the dissemination and professionalization of reggae in Spain, promoting new voices on an international stage.
