You can now vote for your 4 favorite bands in the Heading to Rototom 2025 contest, an open call for new national artists and bands from the musical universe of reggae, dancehall, ska, dub, and their fusions with electronic, hip-hop, cumbia or flamenco, among others, which will allow the four selected formations to perform on the Lion Stage.
The four chosen artists will perform on August 18, 19, 20, and 21 at the Lion Stage, a prominent stage within the festival. They will be able to share space with established bands, access professional technical equipment and connect with music promoters from around the world. Additionally, they will receive support for accommodation, meals, and travel expenses up to 1,000 euros.
From April 16 to May 5, the band selection will take place, which will combine the evaluation by Rototom’s artistic team (80%) and online public voting (20%). The winners will be announced on May 7, thus beginning their journey towards a unique experience within Rototom Sunsplash.
The candidates are presented in the Gallery randomly to voters, to avoid benefiting any of the participants. If you already know which bands you want to vote for, you can use the search function to find them.
With this proposal, the festival and SGAE reinforce their commitment to the dissemination and professionalization of reggae in Spain, promoting new voices on an international stage.
