For each purchase or consumption in the establishments participating in the initiative, a ticket will be obtained for the raffle, which will be held on the last day of the festival, August 21, so that the public can participate in the reggae event.
The international reggae festival Rototom Sunsplash, to be held from August 16 to 21, takes another step forward in its traditional campaign of collaboration with the commercial and hospitality fabric of Benicàssim. The objective: to achieve a greater impact on the sector and to further strengthen the ties between the international audience attracted by the music event and the territory that has been hosting it for 14 editions.
The initiative is launched after the meeting held from the direction of the festival with representatives of the Association of Shops and Services of Benicàssim (Acoserbe) and the Hospitality Association of the municipality (Ehosbe). It is a draw for 20 cash prizes for a total amount of 2,500 euros, which will be complemented with tickets for Rototom Sunsplash 2025, among those who make their purchases or drinks in stores and restaurants in the town.
The novelty is that this year the prize draw is postponed and will be held on the last day of the festival, August 21, so the campaign will be active throughout the edition, so that they can benefit from it for the first time the thousands of attendees that make up the Rototom Sunsplash community (over 220,000 in the last edition) to enjoy a week of reggae vacations in Benicàssim.
“Our audience thus becomes a direct beneficiary of the draw; with this campaign we invite you, beyond the cultural activity offered by the festival inside the Concert venue, to also enjoy the town and get to know Benicàssim, its gastronomy and its stores,” indicate from the management of Rototom Sunsplash. “As we do every year, we are involved in creating spaces and generating time for the thousands of people who visit us to export the festival atmosphere to the population and, with it, to benefit businesses, bars and restaurants,” they add.
In this sense, they recall that, with the transfer, for the first time in this 29th edition, of the emblematic Social Forum of the festival to the Teatre Municipal de Benicàssim, “we have already wanted to shorten the distance between the public and the town”. A commitment that is now reinforced with this new campaign with the local commercial and hospitality sector, and that they value positively from the two associations. “What we want from the associations is that, since a festival is organized in Benicàssim with so much public, that this also reverts in our municipality; that activities are proposed outside the enclosure, as has already been done with the Social Forum, is welcome,” said Juan Miralles, president of Ehosbe.
Participating establishments will be easily identifiable, as they will have the official Rototom Sunsplash flag and a sign. For each purchase or drink -the minimum amount will be determined by each venue that joins the campaign-, customers will get a ticket for the final draw on August 21, in which 2,500 euros in cash and 40 tickets to enjoy the 30th anniversary of Rototom Sunsplash, in 2025, will be distributed.
In addition, each participating establishment will receive two day tickets for any day of this edition – from August 16 to 21, 2024 – and night tickets for its entire staff .
In this nod to the local public, Rototom Sunsplash offers one more summer discounts of 50% on tickets and passes to the festival for the population registered in Benicàssim.
