The well-known journalist Rosa María Calaf (Barcelona, 1945) will moderate the debate Europe and islamophobia a peace perspsective, to held in the Social Forum on Friday August 21 at 19:00 with the Italian politician and journalist Giulietto Chiesa and the president of the Movement against Intolerance, Esteban Ibarra.
Cala is the most veteran foreign correspondent at TVE, with 26 years of experience abroad, and has covered stories for the public entity in 93 countries.
The journalist will guide this debate that will analyze risks of islamophobia on the continent of Europe. Islamophobia is a growing sentiment as a result of the attacks on the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo and this is serving to justify repressive policies, human rights violations and extreme controls on human migrations.
The Social Forum will also host the debate on the Pharmaceutical industrial and the legalization of cannabis, on August 18 at 17:00, which will address the pharmaceutical industry’s influence when it comes to hindering the therapeutic research of, use and the legalization of cannabis in Europe.
Participating as guests in the debate will be Mario Lap, European director of the US company Cannabis Science, and the doctor Mariano García de Palau, who has been applying cannabis treatments for over 15 years..
