To guarantee “safe access for all people to leisure” and a festival “free of sexist behaviours and aggressions” is the aim of the Punto Violeta that we will introduce to the venue this summer, August 16 to 22.
This service faces the challenge of informing, prevention by reinforcing attitudes of respect and addressing and intervening in the face of possible sexual aggressions or situations of harassment that may occur during the festival. We want this Punto Violeta, in addition to acting in cases of sexism, to raise awareness and address any incident, complaint or claim regarding any situation of LGTBiphobia, racism or that which violates the rights of any person or group, for whatever reason.
The Punto Violeta will be active from 19:00 to 06:00 and will be managed by the Red Cross. It will have a team of three specialists in psychological, legal and emotional counselling, and will be supported by the professionals from the Mujer 24 Horas (24-hour Women’s Centre) and volunteers trained in this field.
