55 models demonstrate the symbolism of African fabrics in African Village
African Village has been converted into an authentic celebration to the rhythmic percussion of Hermanos Thioune. The fashion show has brought the public an important part of the culture of the continent: its fashion. 55 models of all ages and origins have graced the catwalk to show the history of fabrics such as wax and batik, as well as the symbolism of its patterns and colours. Jara, from Algeciras, has opened this second edition of the fashion show with a black and white skirt suit and jacket that, “represents day and night”, explained Mor Mbaye, dressmaker of the African Village and Youssouf, from project Farafina. “Today we are going to see Africa, its identity”, said Youssouf, and so it was.
