Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley

The son of Bob Marley and former Miss Jamaica, Cindy Breakespeare, Damian Marley is a deejay, lyricist and producer who has risen to the highest echelons of the Marley family. His massive 2005 hit Welcome To Jamrock, repurposing Ini Kamoze and Sly & Robbie’s World A Music, redefined reggae music in the 21st century. Since that time he has won four Grammy awards, collaborated with the rapper Nas on 2010’s Distant Relatives album, and with Mick Jagger and Joss Stone on the project Superheavy. Nicknamed “Junior Gong” after his father the “Tuff Gong”, Damian is a consummate live performer who last graced the Rototom site in 2016 and 2013.
