The Social Art Gallery 2018 already has its names. Those of the fifteen artists selected from more than one hundred proposals received for our 25th edition and that will impregnate this platform of artistic expression with creativity, which this year reinforces its ties with the public with the elaboration of a large participative mural.
Illustration, painting, graffiti, impressionist murals and even works in relief converge in this artistic cast with international representation, as is the case of Nambowa Malua (direct from Namibia) or the Peruvian Najart. This artistic journey continues through Barcelona, Soria, San Sebastian, Valencia, Alzira and Palencia, with participants such as the illustrator Gemma Capdevila, Laura Villalpando, Mai Hidalgo, Maga, Toni Cuatrero, El Dimitry, Marta Lapeña or InnovArt 19. Also joining the most artistic space of our festival will be Mystic Missy Fu, Ludovico Art, Such, Erik Schmitz and Sig. Luigi. All will give free rein to their creativity with the theme of our anniversary, 25 years walking together.
“Level and diversity” have been decisive in the selection of those who will fill this open-air museum with live art, explains the coordinator of the area, the Valencian artist Iris Serrano. “We have sought variety in disciplines, techniques and approaches, different ways of creating,” she says.
The area also maintains its social side this year and the 15 works designed in this edition will go on sale to use the funds raised to help finance social projects.
In addition, the Social Art Gallery expands its program to awaken interest in art among the public. With the collaboration of the collective Tripas Aerosol presents the opportunity to participate in a large format participatory mural – with a surprise factor – where each person can leave their creative mark during the first three days of the festival.
