Traditional Japanese dishes including those of Japanese festivals (the matsuri) combined with innovative cocktails with a sake twist to the traditional gin tonic and capirinha. This what Manpuketei is bringing for its first visit to the festival’s restaurant area.
Among the varied range of Japanese dishes on offer for the public to enjoy form the August 15 to 22 include everything from salmon or avocado makisushi to yakisoba, okonomiyaki-or Japanese pizza as this tortilla is popularly known in Japan and sold in every street food stall- yakitori, a chicken bruschetta with teriyaki sauce. All dishes are also available without meat or fish, for vegetarians.
To combat the heat you also have six varieties of cocktails to choose from, all sake based, and with suggestive names like Sakerinha, Fujisunset, Tokio Cosmo or Sol Naciente (Rising Sun). And for those gin tonic lovers among you, you’re in luck! You can try a Japanese version of the occidental drink with sake and wasabi to give it a spicy touch.
