The musical programme will continue to expand this wednesday with a new triple set of Jamaicans on the Main Stage led by Capleton, a big of the new roots of the nineties, intrinsically linked to dancehall and without whom the history of recent music of the Caribbean island could not be written.
His movements, his brilliant habits on stage, his incendiary concept of roots reggae and his roaring style make of Capleton a real reggae lion in his performances. It will be the finishing touch for the Main Stage, where Shuga will be also present, who promises an explosive show backed by Capletons band, after her performance on the Showcase last year. The ‘island’ triple set will be completed by Cham, who will also participate in the Reggae University with a second session about dancehall, but on its current situation.
It is also noteworthy, the presence on the Main Stage of Kiril Džajkovski and his fusion show of electronic, Balkan and reggae music, as well as Andy Smith, Portisheads collaborator, in the Ska Club.
Potato, the mythical ska, reggae rocksteady and dub band from Vitoria, will celebrate at Rototom Sunsplash its three decades on stage with a concert in the Showcase, the stage with the widest schedule of the festival.
