Saiba Bayo, a political scientist, is one of the new generation of leading African intellectuals in the field of Social Sciences in Spain. Born in Senegal, he studied Political Science and Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra University. His fields of research focus on political science and philosophy, especially colonialism, gender and cultural studies. In addition to authoring several academic articles and collaborating in collective monographs, Bayo is also a regular contributor to the digital magazine El Salto and to the Catalan regional television channel TV3 since 2021. Bayo combines his activity in academia with social consultancy in the field of education and in the planning and execution of social intervention projects in Senegal. Since 2006 he has chaired the NGO Fassulo.
